Personal Auto policies include the following moving parts:

1. PIP (Personal Injury Protection) – basic insurance covering $10,000.
2. Liability coverage for damage to others.
3. Medical Payments for persons injured in the accident.
4. Uninsured Motorist for bodily injury to a policyholder when the negligent party is not insured adequately.
5. Coverage for damage to your auto.

Each of these parts can be increased, decreased or eliminated except PIP / PD. Rates for auto insurance are based on many factors but driving history is the most important. Several other factors worth noting are age of driver, how far to work or school, type of car, good student discount, home ownership, married or single, prior coverage's and deductibles.
